Dining at the White House: From the President's Table to Yours

Chef John Moeller's cookbook begins with a question, “How does a kid from the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country end up cooking for international heads of state at the White House?”

Join us in The Pub at Plush Mills as Chef Moeller takes us on his thirteen-year journey serving three First Families; those of George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush. He'll share behind-the-scenes tales of cooking for dignitaries and presidential children alike.

The presentation will be followed by lunch.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: A native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, John Moeller graduated from Johnson & Wales in Rhode Island before moving to France where he studied the language, worked grape harvests and in fine restaurants and trained in Brittany before returning to the United States where he found work in several restaurants and hotels until a chef position opened up at the White House. Eventually, Moeller was responsible for all the private meals for the First Families and the official functions at the White House and Camp David.
