Little Orphan Annie Adopted by Plush Mills Residents

Wallingford, PA — Little Orphan Annie may not have parents, but she has more than 100 adoring grandparents who have adopted her. They nurture her during impromptu rehearsals in their dining room at Plush Mills Senior Living in Wallingford, PA. As they serve dinner and bus tables, young actors playing Annie, Daddy Warbucks and other roles entertain the residents with numbers from Annie, the fall musical production of Cardinal O’Hara High School. Dozens of Plush Mills residents traveled together to Cardinal O’Hara High School for the matinee of Annie on Sunday, November 30. In a photo shoot with The Philadelphia Inquirer, they were allowed to see their favorite cast members before the curtain rose: Bridget McHugh of Brookhaven as Annie , Anthony Purpura of Springfield as Daddy Warbucks, Stephen Ruzzo of Springfield, Michelle Riches of Swarthmore, Pete Kane of Springfield and Greg Tosto of Springfield. All six Plush Mills employees are seniors at O’Hara, and veterans of many shows there.  Photos by Charles Fox were published in today's Philadelphia Inquirer.
